Halbe Henn

This was one of my first fun project I've ever did and it's still one of my favorites. And its one of the only ones still running.

Here in Vorarlberg were I live, there are these stands, kind of like small food trucks, mostly in front of supermarkets, that sell roasted chicken (in german "Halbe Henn" means "half chicken").

Now the problem is, that these stands aren't at the same location every day. Some stands are only at a location once a week, some twice a week and some even more often.

Some time early 2021, me and my then pregnant wife sat in our car in the evening, and wanted to get some roasted chicken for dinner. Only problem: We had no idea where the closest stand was that day. So thats the dumb background story of this project.

What the site actually does is pretty simple: It shows a map of Vorarlberg with all the locations of the stands. You can filter by day of the week, so you only see the stands that are there on that day. By clicking on a location, you get more information about that stand, like the specific address and on which days its there.

The data is all stored in a simple JSON file, that I update manually every now and then when I get new information about the stands.
